Do cell phone batteries die faster when you're out of your network coverage?
- yes, because the phone is trying harder to find a signal, so the battery goes quicker
- no
- No. Cell phone batteries are not related with network coverage as I had experienced many times of out of the network coverage but my cell phone battery still full. I think that the cell phone batteries will die faster if you always or keep using it without rest
- The radio runs more when it is searching for a signal, so the battery does drain faster when you are out of network coverage
- If you are in a low coverage area or just outside coverage yes the battery will drain faster since your phone is constantly looking for a signal to latch on to. This is also why the battery life estimates on most phones are so much higher than what we get in real use. A factory test is done under ideal conditions, the real world is not ideal
